Grants for organizations that do not have 501(c)(3) status
Grants or loans to individuals
Grants for medical or other research
Grants for endowments

1. Is your organization a bonafide 501c3?*

Yes

All grant applicants must qualify under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, be classified as a public charity, and domiciled in the United States. Churches and governmental agencies are exempt; however, the Davison Bruce Foundation does not make grants to governmental organizations.

If you work outside the DBF service areas, you are likely ineligible to receive funding. The Davison Bruce Foundation wishes to focus its time on evaluating organizations that fit within the foundation’s mission statement, funding priorities and geographic areas of interest. Therefore, the foundation discourages an organization from applying that is outside of the Davison Bruce Foundation’s service areas, mission and current grant making practices.

5. How many consecutive years have you received funding from the DBF?*

The Davison Bruce Foundation believes that it is best practice to make an impact and cultivate meaningful relationships with our grantee organizations; however, we strive to guard against repetitive funding that may create a culture of dependency or otherwise become detrimental.

If you have received DBF grants for several consecutive years, you are not ineligible to apply; however, it may be beneficial to rethink your grant request. You may want to consider applying for a matching grant in order to increase your donor base, or it may be more advantageous to abstain from this year’s grant cycle. We are happy to talk with you about how this affects your organization and how we might work together to maintain a healthy grantee/grantor relationship. If you decide to refrain from applying due to the number of consecutive grants you have received from the DBF, please let us know. Healthy relationships are important to us, and your consideration will be noted.
